The non-animal protein that is sustainable and environmentally friendly - where does it get its fertilizer from?

Soil stewardship and replenishment are critical to a sustainable ecology - and ruminants are key to generating new top soil.

jet@hackertalks.comto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I want a boyfriend, but I feel like I don't deserve to have one, and I keep alternating between those two thoughts which is making me feel confused. Is this normal?link Englishfedilink 23 hours ago2·arrow-up You can both have things you want to improve in yourself and also have a relationship at the same time. Approach the world with open arms and allow the world to love you back.
Having spent some time at a Durian farm recently, everyone is special on the inside even if they are a bit smelly and prickly on the outside.
I will echo what other people have already said in this post, things that worked for me and my self confidence and feeling balanced and happy
- getting sunlight every day
- getting outside every day
- reducing my sugar consumption
- physical activity (cardio, exercise, swimming, etc)
- having friends and structured activity that forced me to maintain relationships
it’s a menu of options, but I think the more you do the less gross you will feel day to day.

jet@hackertalks.comto Autism@lemmy.world•Do all of us neurodiverse folks have sleep issues?link Englishfedilink 24 hours ago2·arrow-up Terrible snoring my whole life - the kind of band saw snoring that keeps the neighbors up, with sleep apnea thrown in as an adult, i had a very combative relationship with sleep either due to hyper focus or weird stimming behaviors around bed time.
I went ketogenic for hypertension - but it also resolved my snoring and sleep apnea. My ectopic airway fat went away in about 6 months, and I’ve checked with multiple people… I don’t snore anymore. My sleeping habits did improve as well, and I started to fall asleep at a more “reasonable hour”
For the last few months I’ve been going to the sauna every day, and its is like a magical sleep hack. Any day I go to the sauna, I fall asleep as soon as I get into bed and have amazing uninterrupted sleep. I’m not sure this would be a universal experience, but if you have easy access to a sauna its worth trying.

high cholesterol
This could be a early indicator of cardio vascular issues (especially if you also have hyper tension). Next time you go to the doctor ask to get a CAC score (calcium imaging in your arteries), its relatively inexpensive (100-200 USD) and tells you about your immediate cardiovascular risk. Alternatively you could look at your TG/HDL ratio as a indirect proxy to determine if the cholesterol is pattern A (non-damaged)
